The Honey Zone
Resting your resin might be the most frustrating step for a new dice-maker, especially if this is your first pour. However, this is one of the most important! As the resin comes to the end of its working time (or pot life), the reaction starts to speed up. At this point, the resin starts to move from a liquid state to a gel state before becoming a solid.
Somewhere between the liquid and gel state is the goldilocks zone where the resin starts to resemble the consistency of honey. This is the perfect time for most pouring techniques.
If you don’t wait, you’ll generally find that your mix-ins sink to the bottom of the dice. For many moulds, the bottom is the crit face, the highest number on the dice! If you’ve mixed in glitter, this means you won’t have it nice and uniform throughout your dice. You’ll have it ALL on one face in a thick layer
